Adware is a program that is designed to advertise a product or company. They generally exploit your web browser, changing your home page, opening pop-up advertisements, or redirecting your attempts to connect to a web page to that of their own site. malware is like adware; however it is designed with more malicious intent. malware can completely hijack your web browser, stopping your ability to use it. They can also close off your Internet connection completely. It is common for people to call their local high speed Internet provider when they have a problem such as this. The ISP's technicians usually can not fix the problem either due to lack of knowledge or company liability terms prohibiting them from installing software or doing anything to your computer other than checking the network settings and whatever software the company might provide.
